About Olivier

Oliver Leger is a self-taught, award-winning photographer based in Paris, France.
His passion for photography began on his 18th birthday following a solo backpacking excursion through China, ironically, without a camera.
It was upon his return to Europe that he invested in his first camera and decided to never again miss an opportunity to capture and document his travels and the fascinating people that he meets along the way.

Every year Oliver takes one month off from his busy schedule to travel and discover new places, cultures and people. With 30 stamps on his passport and a few years living abroad in Canada and the Philippines, his personal motto “seek the unusual or settle for the ordinary” is reflected in his work. He believes that every wrinkle tells a story which is why he specializes in portraits among other things.

In 2017, he was commissioned by Panasonic to try out their new high-end G9 camera as well as their Leica DG Elmarit 200 mm f/2.8 lens during their 2 month road show and before the official market release.

Oliver’s work has received several awards and prizes including first place for “The Green Color In Nature” contest, 4 second place prizes and 16 People’s Choice Awards.
He has been featured 8 times on Viewbug’s main page where all selections are reviewed by a highly selective panel of judges including renowned photographers such as Peter Hurley and Scott Kelby.

In April 2018, he was featured for the “20 Shots Too Good To Miss,” for his photo entitled “Through the leaf”.
